Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez calls Trump a racist at vigil for shooting victims


US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez addressed a vigil for victims of gun violence in Brooklyn, New York on Monday night (August 5) after two mass shootings happened over the weekend.

During her speech at Grand Army Plaza, Ocasio-Cortez can be heard saying, "I don't want to hear the question, 'Is this president racist?' anymore. He is."

Some at the vigil applauded can be heard applauding in response.

"You're not more of a man with a gun," the congresswoman also said. "You're not more of a man if you are capable of violence."

Authorities in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio are now searching for leads in a pair of weekend mass shootings that killed 31.
