Amputee sea turtle swims again thanks to new prosthetic fin

This is the heartwarming scene as a disabled sea turtle happily swam for the first time after being given a prosthetic flipper yesterday (November 15).

Rocky, the injured sea turtle from Florida, was fitted with the custom-made limb after spending close to two decades struggling to swim underwater.

The green sea turtle, aged between 25 and 30, was hit by a boat as a young adult which resulted in him losing his front right flipper and suffering shell damage.

Prosthetist Kevin Carroll heard the tragic tale and enlisted his team at the Hanger Clinic to build Rocky a special false limb, which he splashed enthusiastically as soon as he took to the water.
