'Fairytale' scene as beautiful clip shows heavy snowfall in Caucasus mountains

This is the enchanting scene of a canyon in the Caucasus mountains painted white with snow.

The hypnotic snowfall video from the so-called Yupsharski canyon in Ritsa Relict National Park in the Caucasus mountains was captured on January 13.

In the video, the forest and mountains are covered in snow as huge snowflakes flutter gently down.

The video was shot in Georgia's separatist republic of Abkhazia.

According to the filmer, she and her friends couldn't see the winter snow in their hometown Suhuma, so they decided to take a trip to the mountains to find a proper winter atmosphere.

She added: 'It was a real-life winter fairytale! We were mesmerised as the views were absolutely breathtaking. We realised how amazing our country is and that its name, Abkhazia [pronounced locally as Apsny] can be interpreted as the soulful country for a reason!"
