'James Bond' island battered by storm in southern Thailand


A heavy rainstorm battered the so-called 'James Bond' island in Phang Nga, southern Thailand on June 19."

Khao Phing Kan off the coast of Krabi province became famous after it was used as an iconic location in the hit Roger Moore movie 'The Man with the Golden Gun' in 1974.

Many diving and speedboat tour had to delay their schedule. It was believed that the summer strong wind also hit many tourist attractions in the nearby provinces such as Phuket and Surat Thani.

Speed boat tour guide Nueng said: ''The storm lasted for about two hours. Then, we had to wait until 5 pm for the steady water flow and begin the trip, which was very late.''
