Back to winter! Scotland blanketed by snow, causing travel chaos

Scotland has been plunged back into wintry weather, with the Cairngorms National Park being blanketed with up to 15 inches of snow, according to reports.

Video filmed this morning (April 3) from the Cairngorms shows a pretty snowy scene, with birds singing in the background being the only sign that it is spring in the UK.

Temperatures plummeted last night when the snow started around 4am, last night (April 3) according to weather forecasts. The filmer expected the snow by her home in Grantown-on-Spey in Scotland, but told Newsflare: "Usually it comes to nothing so I didn't expect this much!"

According to the filmer, several inches of snow had fallen through the night with the A9 closure causing her to work from home.

A yellow eather warning was issued by the Met Office.
