Bat Colony Moved to Safety

Occurred on November 9, 2019 / Bucharest, Romania

Info from Licensor: "In this video the specialists from the Wilderness Research and Conservation Association, together with the Visul Luanei Foundation, were brought in to save a colony of 52 bats, Noctulas or Nyctalus noctula, from an air conditioner in an apartment. The animals were captured and brought to the rehab center, where veterinarians gave them a thorough check. After, the animals were released in the Comana Natural Park, in an old tree, specific for their habitat needs. These animals offer ecosystem services, eating one kilogram of insects per year, thus keeping our cites insect free. A bat weighs between 20 and 30 grams."
