Belgian police fire water cannon at anti-migrant protesters

Police used water cannon on Sunday in Brussels during a right-wing rally against a controversial UN migration pact.

Officers were seen scuffling with protesters who threw firecrackers.

The rally, dubbed the ‘March against Marrakech’, was organized by the right-wing Vlaams Belang party which is vehemently opposed to the migration agreement.

The United Nations signed the first ever international deal on the migration crisis in the Moroccan city earlier this week, promising a global approach to better manage migration.
