Boiling lava gushes out from erupting volcano on Reunion island

A drone camera captured multiple pits bubbling and spitting lava out the top of an erupting volcano on the French-controlled island of La Reunion.

According to the filmer, Piton de la Fournaise volcano in the Indian Ocean is one of the most active in the world.

"Incredible aerial video of an erupting volcano Piton de la Fournaise, an active shield volcano on Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean," the filmer wrote. "It is currently one of the most active volcanoes in the world, matched up with Mont Etna in Italy, Hawaii’s Kilauea, and Mount Erebus in Antarctica. The bright red lava gushing out of earth’s core is quite a remarkable sight which must be seen from above."

The video was captured on July 29 and uses audio of the volcano not captured by the drone on the day but by a floor camera.
