Bollywood actress injured when float collapses during political rally

Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhary was injured on Friday when the float she was riding on collapsed during a political rally in the state of Rajasthan.

Chaudhary was helping to woo voters for Congress candidate Rafique Mandelia in the town of Bhadra when the floor of the wooden carriage they were standing in suddenly gave way.

Chaudhary and several politicians fell a few feet but were not seriously injured.

Chaudhary was taken to a local hospital where she was given "first aid" before being discharged.
