Boxing rats duke it out in Indian kitchen

A remarkable video has emerged from India showing two wild rats appearing to box on a kitchen shelf.

The two rodents begin their contest with a some classic MMA-style "ground and pound" with one rat pinning its opponent to the floor.

The rat manages to wriggle free from "full mount" and the two now get to their feet to mix grappling on the inside with some striking from distance.

One rat in particular seems to find its range, landing some textbook left jabs to the jaw of his or her opponent.

Now the two rats take it to the ground again with one rat appearing to go for some form of submission move - possibly a paw bar - when the video sadly cuts out.

It's unclear exactly when the clip was filmed although it first surfaced online back in August.

It was filmed in the kitchen of a home in Uttarakhand.
