‘Burning of the Clocks’ marks winter solstice in Brighton

A unique festival, the 'Burning of the Clocks' is celebrated in Brighton to mark the Winter Solstice on Friday.

Handmade lanterns are carried through the city accompanied by drummers, to celebrate the shortest day of the year and to welcome in the extra daylight in the coming days.

"It’s a wonderful unique event hosted in Brighton every year," said the filmer. "The lanterns are burnt in a huge beach bonfire at the end of the parade, as shown in the video clip."
