China opens world's first 5G self-driving bus line

This 5G self-driving bus had a trial operation for the first time on a road in central China.

The video, shot in Zhengzhou City in Henan Province on May 17, shows a 5G driverless bus with passengers on it running along a road.

The bus was equipped with radar, laser, ranging sensors and camera, thus it can recognise the traffic lights, pedestrians and obstacles.

The autopilot system allows the bus to change lanes and overtake other vehicles.

Passengers can book a test ride by scanning the code on the station.
