Colombia students continue protest for higher education budget

Students took to the streets of Bogota on November 15 to demand president Ivan Duque to increase the nation's higher education budget.

Student enrollment in the South American nation's public universities has quadrupled since the early 1990s, while spending has only marginally increased.

The protest later descended into violence as students cracked down on the students with tear gas.

The rally is the latest in a series of protests calling for the government to increase their funding for education.
