Driver Collides with Stop Sign Running Vehicle

Occurred on May 30, 2020 / Ashville, Ohio, USA

Info from Licensor: "On my way to adopt my foster dog. I was driving 50 in a 55 coming up to an intersection. A lady didn’t stop at a stop sign or yield to me or two other cars coming the opposite direction. I slammed on my breaks and made contact with the rear driver side door. Airbags exploded, screaming happened, my mom (passenger) braced for impact and thought she broke her arm. I had a busted and bruised knee with a pulled tendon and, when I laid on the horn and the airbag exploded, my right arm flew backwards resulting in a few shredded tendons and torn muscle. The lady that pulled out in front of us hit her head on the steering wheel and was unconscious. Somehow, I managed to get out of my driver side door. The front driver's side of my car was crunched so bad it was pushed into the way of my door, preventing it from opening. My rear driver side door wouldn’t open, but the window was rolled down for my dog and I had her just out of the window to check her over. About 5 cars stopped with people rushing to help us. Someone provided safety for my dog in their car while I was checked by the ambulance. After 3 years of waiting and a lot of physical therapy, the lady’s insurance got back to us and we won our claim. The dog that was in the accident, is now my service dog that helps me with my mobility and anxiety attacks from the accident."
