Dryer Catches Fire at Laundromat

Occurred on November 28, 2022 / Sacramento, California, USA

Info from Licensor: "On November 28, I was at a laundromat in Sacramento waiting for my clothes to dry when suddenly the dryer to the left of mine burst into flames. The manager of the shop immediately ran over and pulled some items from the dryer, tossing them to the ground. As the flames grew and he saw that reaching his hand back in could cause him a serious injury, the manager ran to grab a bucket of water. As he stepped away, I began to stomp on some of the smaller flaming items that he pulled from the dryer. I had little success, as my shoe immediately began to melt and so I started to film just in case the fire spread to the dryer with my own clothes in it. The shop manager then returned with a bucket of water and was able to douse the fire out with it. The customers whose laundry caught fire returned to the shop at that moment. She claimed there were only towels and undergarments in the load but we were not able to figure out the cause of the fire at the time. Nobody was hurt, and the laundromat sustained minimal damage outside of the burnt dryer."
