Fire breaks out in derelict building in central Bristol

A major fire in a derelict building send thick black smoke billowing through central Bristol this morning (October 21).

The fire, near the city's harbour, sent smoke throughout the city centre, obscuring the iconic Mary Redcliffe Church.

The filmer writes: "There were a hundred or so people commenting, taking pictures, worried, hoping no-one would be hurt.

"The fire was on the other side of the river though, so safety wasn't an issue for the bystanders."
