Florida Everglades fire marshals set ‘prescribed fires’ to reduce future outbreaks

A controlled burn-off was set in Florida to help prevent future forest fires that might occur in the south and southwest of the state.

The footage, filmed by Konstantin Petrenko on March 22, shows his drive up the Tamiami Trail, between Miami and Naples, covered in smoke while the fields burned.

Petrenko commented: “The scale of the fire seemed to be enormous as you can see by all the smoke coming off of it, I was able to see it for at least 5 miles.”
