Former slum in eastern Indonesia rebuilt into 'rainbow village'

A former slum in Malang city, eastern Indonesia was redesigned into a colourful community and has now become a popular tourist spot.

In video filmed on April 7, the neighbourhood of Jodipan, which borders the Brantas river, can be seen having been painted with orange and blue hues on the streets and building.

Students from one of Malang's universities painted the area in mid-2016 with the vibrant colours and 3D paintings, and it has since become a popular spot for selfies with close friends and family.
