Hang glider escapes injury after dodging water tank and crashing into tree

An Indian hang glider’s attempt to set a local record went spectacularly wrong on Sunday when he narrowly missed a huge water tank and then crashed into a tree.

Mohan Kumar, 25, had planned to land his glider on temple grounds at Poruvazhy in Kerala.

The crowd, which had gathered at the temple, gasped when they saw him narrowly miss the water tank.

He then smashed into a tall tree and the glider got entangled with the branches.

But before the shocked onlookers could summon help, Kumar managed to climb down the tree on his own safely.

Kumar blamed strong tailwinds for the accident.
