High school students spread positive messages with colourful post-it notes after teen attempts suicide

Students at a high school in Columbus, Ohio filled their campus with uplifting post-it messages after one of their peers tried to take his own life.

This video, filmed by Kojo Kandi on November 2, shows hundreds of brightly coloured post-it notes stuck to railings and on the walls.

Some simply say "Be strong!" and "Smile!"

Others feature longer quotes – "When you feel like quitting, think about why you started", reads one.

On Twitter, Kandi wrote that he happened to be at the high school to watch a play his daughter was in a day after hearing that a young man had tried to take his life.

"It was powerful, and emotional," he said of the colorful messages. "Students want to be heard... listen. Don’t stifle this."
