Hong Kong protesters barricade police inside chief executive's office

Young protesters in Hong Kong clad in black barricaded the police inside the offices of chief executive Carrie Lam on Monday (July 1).

Video shows police retreating behind a fence into the government building before protesters arrive, dragging a heavy object to block the exit.

Protesters are also seen running supplies to each other.

The protests coincided with the 22nd anniversary of the former British colony’s handover to China.
