Hurricane Michael brings storm surge to Gulf beach city

Cities along the Gulf coast experienced storm surge on Tuesday, October 9 as Hurricane Michael neared.

This video, filmed at John's Pass in Madeira Beach, a city bordered on the west by the Gulf of Mexico, shows the high water levels at around 8:20 pm.

Hurricane Michael grew to a Category 3 storm earlier in the day, and authorities say it could be upgraded to a Category 4 just before landfall, which is expected tomorrow.
