Imposing sculpture made from 100,000 knives arrives in Coventry

An eight-metre-tall statue made from 100,000 weapons seized by police has arrived in Coventry, central England.

Designed by Alfie Bradley, the imposing work of art aims to explore the devastation that knives can bring to people's lives.

The structure, in the shape of an angel, reportedly took more than five years to create.

Jimmy Connor, who filmed the video, described the feeling at the sculpture as "very poignant" as families laid down flowers for their loved ones.

Some of the knives are engraved with messages from families of victims of knife crime.

The UK has been suffering from a knife crime epidemic with 40 people losing their lives since the start of the year.
