This is the moment a man who fell into an 80-feet deep pit is pulled out alive. Altaf, 40, was walking on a dimly lit street in Hubli, Karnataka, India on September 26 when he fell into the pit. A construction crew had dug a deep-pile foundation and left it uncovered negligently. Altaf stepped into it and fell inside. A passer-by saw Altaf falling inside and raised an alarm immediately. A few people gathered at the spot and found that Altaf was conscious and able to communicate. They lowered a rope and pulled it up as Altaf managed to hold on to the other end. Altaf surfaced covered with mud. He was very emotional and was seen touching the feet of people who had rescued him, a sign of respect and gratitude in India. “I am lucky to be alive,” he said.
