Man Confronts Canvasser in Florida

Info from Licensor: "I was canvassing for the 2022 midterms on November 2nd in Windemere FL, working to get out the vote. When I turned around from a unresponsive house, a man in a golf cart was sitting in the street behind me. He did not identify himself. He beckoned me to approach him, and I ignored him and continued on my way to the next house on my list. This triggered the man, he then drove his cart past me into the intersection where I was heading. Once he got out of the cart, he began yelling obscenities at me, and that’s when I took out my phone and began recording. I felt threatened, and he tried to get close to me to engage me in an argument. I tried my best to explain I was canvassing, but he didn’t understand and accused me of soliciting. I no longer wanted to continue canvassing in that neighborhood once confronted, and immediately wanted to leave, but the man continued to approach me and blocked me from leaving as he yell at me to “get the f#%k out” I did my best to keep my distance, and over and over he continued to get close to me for some kind of physical conflict. He ended up chasing me, and then blocked me from getting to my car. He demanded I speak to him, and I refused over and over because I felt threatened. There was a red car nearby that stayed and witnessed the whole interaction, and at one point I apologized to them and tried to explain what I was going through (they were off camera at the time). I told the man from a safe distance that I was going to put this footage on TikTok and how many followers I had, and then he did not say another word and stopped blocking my car door with his body. He got back in his cart and I continued to film him as I got in my car and drove away."
