Man and dog killed in Scotland flat fire


A man and his dog are dead after a flat fire in Falkirk early this morning (Saturday).

Emergency services raced to David’s Loan at around 4:34 am and found a ‘well established’ blaze.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "As a result, a man has sadly died.”

“A joint investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding this fire."

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted to an incident at 4.30am on Saturday 6 July at a first floor flat in David’s Loan, Falkirk.”

“Operations control mobilised six appliances and firefighters in breathing apparatus tackled the blaze.”

“One male casualty was removed from the premises but has sadly passed away.”

“Our thoughts and condolences are with his family.”

“A joint investigation will now be undertaken in partnership with Police Scotland”.
