Najin, the Rare White Rhino

Occurred on August 17, 2019 / Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kenya

Info from Licensor: "Meet Najin, one of the last two female Northern White Rhinos on this planet. Years of widespread poaching due to human greed and civil war has nearly destroyed her entire species. She's a survivor and a hope for her kind, and ours.

Rhinos are poached brutally due to the rising demand of rhino horn, which is used in traditional Chinese medicine, but is also common as a status symbol to display success and wealth.

Najin and Fatu currently reside in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where there is a dedicated 24hr armed security to keep them safe and healthy.

Fun Fact - African Rhinos don’t have incisors or canine teeth, but they do have big premolars and molars adapted for grinding vegetation."
