Severe flash flooding hit the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago over the weekend, turning roads into fast-moving rivers and triggering landslides.

This video, filmed in Curepe located in the East–West Corridor, shows a car driving through a waterlogged street.

Rescues and recovery work are now underway as residents deal with the aftermath of 48 hours of heavy downpours.

Locals say that several deaths have resulted from the floods, but none have been officially confirmed.
