Photographer calms wild elephant in Kenya by making rumbling noises

A photographer makes rumbling sounds to reassure a nervous elephant over his presence in the Mount Elgon Forest, Kenya.

The photographer and wildlife biologist Ian Redmond said: "[The elephant] displays with bluff charges but eventually calms down and continues feeding."

The male elephant, named Nick because of the nick in his trunk-tip, is one of the famous cave-elephants in the area and has been studied by Redmond since 1980.

This footage was taken in April 2016.
