Protesters gather outside Trump rally in Cape Girardeau, Missouri

Protesters staged a demonstration outside a Trump rally in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on November 5, a day before the midterm elections on Tuesday.

In the video filmed near Show Me Center in the Missouri city, students of Southeast Missouri State University can be seen holding up protest signs while chanting "trans rights are human rights".

Trump was campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Josh Hawley during the rally, which was also attended by talk show hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

Hawley is running against Democrat incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill, who as of Monday evening was leading the race by a narrow margin.
