Saving a Bird Stuck in the Rain Gutter Downspout on Mother's Day

Occurred on May 8, 2022 / Portage, Michigan, USA

Info from Licensor: I was outside and I had heard a scratching noise from inside the downspout. I had my husband come out and he heard it too. We thought we heard a faint chirp. We then took the gutter apart and I had to dig below the ground a little. Once the downspout was removed, the bird was still down into the ground. I put a stick down in there and it hopped on and as I pulled the bird out it flew away. We are so happy we were able to save the bird.
