Shocking moment school bus goes berserk after brakes fail on busy road


A school bus in south India carrying 30 students lost control of its brakes and rammed into several vehicles before eventually coming to a halt on Friday (February 22).

Eight people in the path of the runaway bus suffered injuries after the driver lost control and collided with at least three vehicles in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh state. None of students aboard were injured fortunately.

All the injured were rushed to Vijayawada Government General Hospital where they are undergoing treatment and said to be out of danger.

The driver of the bus, which was owned by Chaitanya school, realised that his brakes had failed at SN Puram circle, and only managed to stop the bus after causing considerable chaos.

Satyanarayanapuram circle inspector P. Kanaka Rao said: “The mishap was caused by brake failure. We have arrested the driver, collected CCTV evidence and are probing the incident.”
