Stunning footage shows new volcanic eruption from Mount Etna's crater

Italy’s Mount Etna has been sending lava flows down the mountainside this week in a new eruption since August.

Impressive drone footage shows the volcano spewing lava and volcanic ash into the air during a gorgeous sunset.

The clip was filmed yesterday (December 8).

''The eruption activity is not dangerous for villages nearby at the moment and a lot of people are going to the mountain to enjoy and film the amazing display,'' says Giuseppe Distefano, the filmer.

Mount Etna, located in Sicily, is the highest volcano in Europe.
