Thai fisherman in shock after finding giant python in his net

This fisherman had a nasty surprise after pulling his net and finding a four-metre-long python.

Chalerm Nookaew, 34, goes every morning to check how many crabs he has snared from the pond in Chachoengsao, central Thailand.

But he had a nasty surprise when pulling in the equipment on the morning of January 29 when he noticed the shiny gold scales of the massive python.

Chalerm called the emergency services who dispatched the local rescue team. They reeled in the python and stuffed it into a sack before it was released back into the wild several miles away.

Chalerm said: ''I've been fishing here for a long time and never caught a snake. I was shocked but I'm glad it didn't bite me.''
