Thousands still living in tents as authorities slowly lift evacuation orders following Camp Fire

Thousands of Paradise, California residents are still camping at shelters a month after the deadly fire that killed 85.

This video, filmed by Carl Bartlett on December 3, shows a drive through Butte County Fairgrounds. The grounds became an official shelter sponsored by the Red Cross after evacuees who had settled at a Walmart parking lot as the fire broke out were relocated.

Bartlett told Newsflare that there is talk of Red Cross shutting down the evacuation center, with plans for people to move to a new location in Chico after the water, which accumulated during a rainstorm last week, recedes.

The number of missing persons has dropped to 11, local authorities reported.
