Vietnamese fans light up the streets celebrating victory in Asian Cup 2019


Vietnamese football fans lit up the streets with flares after a win against Jordan in the Asian Cup 2019, entering the quarterfinals of this tournament for the first time.

Vietnam fans watched the match through a big screen is located in Hai Phong city, in north Vietnam, on January 20. After the team won in a penalty shootout, fans erupted in celebration by lighting flares, waving flags and dancing in the streets.

The match was a 1-1 draw and after two minutes of extra time, a penalty shootout was called to determine the winner. The shootout ended with a score of 4-2, giving Vietnam the win.

The tournament is being held in the United Arab Emirates. The Vietnamese team must wait for the results of the match between Japan and Saudi Arabia to determine their opponents in the quarterfinals.
