Visitors 'throw stones' at giant panda in Beijing Zoo

A visitor threw a stone at giant panda in Beijing Zoo on July 13.

The video shows a stone being thrown in the direction of a panda sitting on the ground in the enclosure.

The panda was scared by the stone and then walked over to it to check out.

A woman can be heard saying: "Who threw it? What is that? Could you please do not feed the panda? What's wrong with you?!"

Another girl says: "Shall we move to somewhere else to watch the panda? Seems like a stone being thrown inside."

Her friend responds:" Isn't throwing not allowed? Did they just want the panda to move?"

According to reports, two people threw stones at the panda in only half an hour.

The Beijing Zoo said their staff went to the site immediately. The panda has been checked and doesn't have any injuries. The zoo is planning to upgrade the facilities to protect the pandas.
