Whitehall on lockdown after 'suspicious package' found
Police in Whitehall, London, placed the area on lockdown after a "suspicious package" was found on Monday night.
"There is currently a road closure on Whitehall between Parliament and Trafalgar Square in Westminster due to a police incident," the Metropolitan Police tweeted. The area was reopened after the operation was complete.
"Roads in the area are being reopened," the account later confirmed.
