Winter storm brings significant snowfall to southeastern states

Cities across the southeast saw heavy snowfall over the weekend as a winter storm brought up to 24 inches of snow.

The storm caused thousands of households to lose power and also halted travel disruptions, with more than 1,100 flights canceled at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

This video, filmed in Rutherfordton County in North Carolina, shows the snowfall accompanied by strong wind gusts.

Several school districts in North Carolina have announced that they will be closed on Monday due to difficult travel conditions.
