Yellow vests let off smoke bombs at Islington Police Station in London

Yellow vest activists let off smoke bombs at a police station in north London on Saturday afternoon (April 20).

The action was in protest against arrests made earlier during a demonstration in the centre of the capital.

Video from inside the Islington Police Station on Tolpuddle Street shows a smoke-filled interor and yellow vests chanting.

The yellow vests eventually left of their own accord, according to the filmer. Officers then shuttered the station and kept watch outside.

Earlier demonstrators clashed with police outside the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, with some demonstrators, many of whom were wearing yellow vests, hurling abuse at the police.

Police moved in and could be seen detaining several of the demonstrators.
