9 arrested as climate change protestors disrupt Brexit draft agreement

Police arrested nine people when climate change protesters tried to blockade Downing Street's entrance before Prime Minister Theresa May could leave to discuss the Brexit draft agreement.

The protesters, who belonged to the group Extinction Rebellion, spray painted slogans on walls and pavements, one supergluing herself to a barrier outside Downing Street and protesters were dragged away to waiting police vans.

One activist, who refused to give their name, urged the government to: "Get real about climate change and tell the truth about what's happening".

A second activist said she was arrested for the first time two days prior and was willing to do it again because of what she called the "impending danger".
