Agonising wait for relatives of Christchurch shooting victim in Indonesia


The relatives of one of the victims of the shooting in Christchurch, New Zealand were left desperately watching for developments on Indonesian television today (March 15).

An Indonesian artist named Zulfirman Shah was grievously injured along with his young son, in the shooting at the Christchurch mosque with both recovering in hospital, according to multiple local reports.

Zulfirman Syah's relatives were alerted of their family member's condition after the event and were filmed intently watching the coverage from Padang, western Indonesia, as further developments come in.

It is believed that up to six Indonesian citizens were either injured or killed among the numerous casualties, while the total death toll stands at 49.
