Baby Raccoon Recovers After Losing Hand

Info from Licensor: "About 1.5 months ago, while outside I saw a mom raccoon and her babies. and one of them had a rat trap on its paw. I called every rehabber I could, and one said she could try to catch it to remove it. Unfortunately a few days later she lost her hand. I called again to see what I could do, and was given some antibiotics. I waited outside for two weeks and was able to get her a pill each night. It has now been around six weeks since she lost her hand, and she is doing great! I’ve even seen her climbing trees with her siblings. She is incredibly gentle and sweet. It’s amazing that animals that have endured so much pain can be so resilient, gentle, and full of life. She is one tough cookie!"
