Baltimore Police rescue dog from harbor


On December 22, 2019, at approximately 4:05pm, officers assigned to the Inner Harbor Unit were on patrol when they were notified that a dog got off his leash and jumped into the water. The dog then began to panic.

Due to the extreme water temperatures, officers immediately began rescue efforts. The BPD Marine Unit responded to the location to assist with the rescue.

One officer jumped into the water in an attempt to save the dog. With the assistance of officers onboard the marine unit, the dog was safely pulled from the water. One officer received minor injuries during the incident. The dog was not injured.
