Brave boy guides ambulance by running though flood waters


A brave twelve-year-old boy wades across a flooded bridge to show way to a stranded ambulance driver in India.

The student, Venkatesh, was playing with his friends on August 11 when he noticed that the ambulance trying to cross the flooded river in Hirerayanakumpe village, commenting "The driver asked if he could drive across the bridge. I showed him the way. I did not know it was a brave act."

People who were on the other side of the bridge were astonished to see Venkatesh risking his life. They grabbed him as soon as he crossed the bridge.

Local media cover suggests government officials would recommend Venkatesh for a bravery award.
