British summer time? Durham hit by several inches of snow

A snowstorm blanketed areas of northeast England this morning (April 3).

"Luckily it was my working from home day so [I] didn't have to worry about the journey to work," the filmer wrote online.

The video was filmed in Stanley, County Durham.

Local media reported the Met Office as saying: “A spell of sleet and snow is expected on Wednesday morning, mostly on high ground. 2-5 cm snow may accumulate above 200 metres, whilst 5-10 cm is possible above 400 metres in a few places."

The snowfall caused travel chaos in parts of the UK.
