Byron Bay Community Helps Free Shipwrecked Boat

Info from Licensor: "Skipper Jeff Sutton just bought his boat from Tasmania and was heading to the Gold Coast. The bow broke! So he came to shore in Byron Bay to get some parts and help. The anchor pulled off the deck and the boat was set free and the big waves pushed his yacht, Wyuna 1, into the sand. Our community gathered around to help. He was told it may cost him $200,000 to remove the boat.

With volunteers and friends and money raised after a long night night … the rope to the tug boat broke! The effort started again the next morning for the last king tide of the month. Success! He is on his way! Credit: Karin Anne Knight"
