Carousel with real horses in Chinese zoo angers visitors

A carousel with real horses tied to metal pillars at Nantong Forest Wildlife Zoo in eastern China has angered visitors.

The video shows six horses being tied to the metal pillars and walking in circles.

The filmer said: "How can they make the horses so obedient? Is it a bit cruel?"

According to the zoo, it was an innovation on the form of the normal carousel and is not against the law.

However, some netizens were unhappy with the amusement rides.

Comments on Chinese Twitter-like service Weibo included complaints such as: "What is the meaning of using the real horses? It is a retrogression of civilization as they do not know how to respect lives."

"It is really weird and cruel! I will not play it."

"Why you do not tie human being on it to innovate?"
