Cars travel through flooded roads in Thai city

Hundreds of drivers battled through flooded roads as heavy rain swamped roads in Pattaya, eastern Thailand, today (April 2).

The deluge caused flash floods on the city’s highway and other smaller streets just after lunchtime.

Motorists had to struggle through 30cm deep water which took up to three hours to subside.

The tropical storm arrived after days of scorching hot weather with temperatures reaching almost 40C in some regions of the country.
