Chaos when riderless bike plunges into crowd of spectators after stunt fail


A bike stunt went wrong and ended up injuring several spectators watching the Republic Day Parade at Palanpur in Gujarat, western India, on January 26.

A woman police constable was standing upright balancing on the backseat of the bike, while holding a sword when she lost balance and fell down.

But the bike continued with its momentum and hurtled into a crowd of spectators. Six school children who had come to watch the show were injured in the incident.

Constable Rekha Ben, who was riding the bike, and her colleague on ground, Hina Ben, were also hurt.

Officials rushed all eight injured to the Civil Hospital for treatment.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani visited the injured and directed the district administration to provide all possible medical aid to the injured.

All of them have since been discharged.
